Ian Kortbek Memorial Skatepark has an inspiring story and is named after one of people who rallied for a community skatepark. Having suddenly died in a traffic accident, friends created a foundation in Kortbek's name to continue rallying and raise funds. The foundation raised most of the funds themselves but received a sizable grant from the Tony Hawk Foundation in the amount of $10,000. Today, the skatepark exists for anyone in the community to enjoy, free of charge. There is also a swing set, jungle gym, basketball court and tennis court on site.
